Colourful Pop Art Portrait

If you follow my body of work you will probably notice that the past year or two I have been going to a more Pop Art style artworks. I think it is these types of art that will have an amazing impact on any interior once you hang it on your wall in a huge printed size.
That is exactly what I had in mind while creating this portrait featuring a stunning redhead woman completely in Pop Art style but with a pointillism or perhaps cubism twist.
So I proudly present you with this artwork in my ArtHeroes shop. And as always newly added artworks are discounted for the early birds among my fanbase.

The artwork is a nice balance between Pop Art style and going abstract without the viewer having to search for the subject in the artwork. It has an amazing amount of small detail so watching this piece will not quickly become boring.

Colourful Pop Art Portrait

For the techies among my fanbase I will explain how this was made. I started in AI and asked it for a drawing of a model with red hair. The drawing was good but contained a bunch of rendering error’s which I didn’t like so I fixed all that in Photoshop. So at this stage we have an artwork that is ‘Artificial created but fixed by hand’. The result was loaded in a software program where I can program filters to create patterns as you can see in this artwork. In this case is it actually a mixture of 3 different kind of patterns combined. This part would be called ‘Generated art’.
The final step was mixing all these separate layers in Photoshop into a single piece of art. I also changed the colours because I wanted a lot of primary colours in the artwork.
Finally I did my own drawing to change small parts of the artwork that I wasn’t happy about and created a new pair of eyes because, well I could do a better job by hand.

So while a part of this artwork is made by AI I firmly believe that the mix between artist and AI gives the best art compared to standalone AI which often just all looks the same.
As an artist that always wants to learn new techniques and experiment using AI is a logical next step although I will probably always at the very least give the art a little bit of my own handmade sauce.
